Hmm, looks like my post last week got lost somewhere down the line
(really have to upgrade this thing to CommunityServer 1.1!). Anyway,
passed my driving test
(woohoo)...now trying to decide if I want to grab my car allowance cash
and keep driving the utilitarian runabout I bought from my
brother-in-law or just get an insanely over-the-top car instead (guess
which will win
;-)). I'm back in Reading this week at TVP (Thames Valley Park, the
main Microsoft campus in the UK) to get a bit more experience and
general settling in. We had a 'CDM' day last week (no idea what it
means...ah acronyms); where customers come
down for technical presentations and a bit of fun; we all went
go-karting (well, I had to squeeze my massive frame into a little cart-
painful!). It was a fun time and I, as usual, got a little bit sunburnt
(the weather in the UK is decidedly tropical at the moment).
Currently I'm sitting at my desk in the office (only person
here...eveyone else actually being possessed of a life); looking into
some of the cool secret stuff I get to see now I've had the implant
surgically inserted into my pre-frontal cortex (joke!). I've also been
playing with some Indigo stuff as well as VSTS (following the great
presentations by
Martin,
Morgan and
Darren at the CDM day).
I still have a lot to learn but luckily my team is pretty used to my
situation so they're pretty good at helping (and drinking...but that's
another story).
Getting closer to the point where I'll get back to the 'interesting'
stuff on the blog (especially when writing articles is considered part
of the job :-D). I'm not sure what I'll write about yet but hopefully
you'll find it vaguely engaging...
