WTF! You can't use ASP.NET 2.0 on a box with Sharepoint installed!

Found here, this has to be the dumbest thing I ever heard! So, we have lovely new ASP.NET 2.0 with  a bunch of productivity enhancements, lovely web parts…but wait…you can’t start using it until next year (2006) because Sharepoint can’t run on the same box! We have to wait for Sharepoint Portal Server SP2…which won’t be until well after Whidbey is released…an remember there’s 30m+ Sharepoint licenses around!
Complete screw up if you ask me!

Maybe you're getting WSS v2 SP2 and WSS v3 mixed up?

Umm...don't think so, from the post I linked to:
Attention: Until WSS Service Pack 2 ships, do NOT attempt to install Visual Studio 2005 or the ASP.NET 2.0 runtime on a machine running WSS or SPS. Until WSS SP2 is installed, doing so will break WSS/SPS.
And...
Experiment with Whidbey Web Parts. Use them as soon as you can in applications built with Whidbey and only Whidbey (i.e., no WSS/SPS in the picture). But don’t plan to use them in SharePoint sites for a year. Believe me, no one will be happier than me when we can tell everyone to write all Web Parts in ASP.NET 2.0, and if we can tell you this before next year, we will.
