Taking the leap...

I'm ALMOST decided that I'm going to move from full-time to contracting / free-lance work. Got my 'Start your own business' book, and am reworking my CV to be more suitable for this type of role...all I have to do now is actually get up the nerve to pack in my job...any tips, what's the best way to start contracting?

Hi Scott,

If you need offshore programming, please contact me. I currently develop in VB 6, SQL server 7 and 2k, Extra! emulator and Microsoft automation. I have also attended some classes on .Net framework, VB .Net and ADO .Net, so I can deal with the basics of these new technologies.

Hi Scott,

How's it going. Just reading your site and thought I should let you know I've just made the leap to contract / free-lance work! Give me a shout if you want some info on IR35 and all those lovely tax issues!!

Hi Michael...hmm...not going overly well - still working my way through the book. Biggest thing is finding a contract which allows for a notice period - too much of a coward to quit then try to find a contract...
